Active cooperation with study associations
Paddle tennis, dinners, and guest lectures: the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) has been actively collaborating with the five notarial student associations in recent months, organizing various activities together. A variety of events are also planned for the coming months.
The collaborations and activities are part of the Futurepro(o)f program, one of the key priorities of the Strategic Agenda for the Notary Profession 2020-2025. With this program, KNB aims to position the notary profession as an attractive profession that meets the needs and demands of modern society.
Activities
Thanks to the Royal Dutch Bar Association's (KNB) partnership with the Utrecht-based study association Vevonos, students and small and medium-sized notary offices from the Central Netherlands Ring were able to join a dinner last week. That same week, a padel tournament for students and offices from the Northern Netherlands Ring was held in Groningen, co-facilitated by the Vevonos study association. And during the VIVAmibo in January, members of the Amsterdam-based study association VIVA were able to meet small and medium-sized offices from the Amsterdam and North Holland Rings.
Universities
The KNB also ensures that students at universities can become acquainted with the notarial profession. After all, not every notarial student is an (active) member of a student association. KNB chair Annerie Ploumen, for example, gives various guest lectures. During open days, symposia, job fairs, and career path information sessions, the KNB provides information to demonstrate what it means to be a notary and the social role they play.
Looking ahead
In the coming months, the Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Association (KNB) will further expand its activities with universities and student associations to connect as many students and members as possible. For example, a pétanque tournament is planned for March 14th for small and medium-sized offices in the Gelderland Ring region. This tournament is being organized in collaboration with the Nijmegen student association Nota Bene. There are still spots available. You can register via futureproof@knb.nl .
