Directions to our office in Vlaardingen

Directions (car)

The best way to plan your trip is with Google Maps, Waze, or Flitsmeister route planners. If you're still using a map, the following might be a good help.

Coming from the direction of The Hague
Take the A4 motorway. Take the Vlaardingen-Oost exit: take the right exit towards Schiedam-West / Vlaardingen-Oost. Turn right onto Schiedamsedijk. Just past the MAES notary sign on your right, turn right onto Meester A. Kesperweg and follow that road to the roundabout. At the roundabout, go straight onto Westlandseweg and turn left at the traffic lights onto Julianasingel. Then continue straight until you approach Verploegh Chasséplein. Drive onto the square. We are located at number 1, where the flags and banners fly so proudly. The driveway to our parking lot is to the left of our office building. Parking is free for our clients on our lot.

The travel time from The Hague city centre is approximately 20 minutes.

Directions (Public Transport)

For over 125 years, there has been a rail connection between Rotterdam and Hoek van Holland: the Hoek Line. Trains ran on this line until April 1, 2017. Since then, the track and stations have been converted for a direct metro connection between Rotterdam city center and Hoek van Holland: the extended metro line B. This line stops 6 to 12 times an hour at the Vlaardingen West, Vlaardingen Centrum, and Vlaardingen Oost stations.

Regional buses 156 (towards Vlaardingen West Station and Holy-Noord), 126 (towards Schiedam Central Station and Maassluis) and 56 (towards Vlaardingen West Station and Holy-Noord) stop right outside our door.

To plan your trip, visit https://9292.nl/.

Parking

There's plenty of free parking for our clients on our own premises next to and behind our office building. If you already drive an electric car, you can charge it here.

What else...

Proof of identity

We strongly urge our visitors to bring valid identification (passport, driver's license, identity card, or residence permit) when visiting our office. If you have previously uploaded a copy of a valid ID to your My Notary File, we request that you present that same ID to the notary when executing a deed. We have already compared this ID with data from the Verification Identification System ("VIS") we consulted, pursuant to the Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (Prevention) Act (the "WWFT"). For this reason, we have included this ID in the deed. If you do not bring the same ID with you when visiting our office, or if you do not bring the same ID you previously uploaded to your My Notary File, this may result in refusal of service, delays, and additional identification costs that we will charge you. We would like to help you avoid this.

Disabled visitors

Our office is wheelchair accessible.

Hospitality Desk

Upon arrival at the office, please report to our Hospitality Desk and take a seat in the lounge. We understand how frustrating it is to have to wait long, so we strive to keep your wait as short as possible. Sometimes, this can take a little longer than we'd like, for example, if meetings or passing appointments run over during the day. We ask for your understanding in this case. To minimize delays, it would help us and our clients if you could arrive at the office five minutes before your scheduled time.

Making the wait more pleasant

To make any waiting time, sometimes unavoidable, a little more pleasant, we have an iPad with free Wi-Fi available for personal use in our lounge. We're happy to provide you with your Wi-Fi code when you visit our office. You can surf the internet as you like, but we've also downloaded the apps for De Telegraaf, AD, NRC, de Volkskrant, and Financieel Dagblad onto the iPad so you can read the newspapers digitally.

Pets

We kindly request that you do not bring pets to our office. Guide and assistance dogs, however, are always welcome to accompany their owners.

Smoking policy

Smoking is not permitted in our office because all visitors and employees have the right to a smoke-free environment.

Protocol of former notary Bijster

The protocol and other notarial documents of Mr. EM (Ed) Bijster, civil-law notary in the Rotterdam district until September 1, 2020, with the municipality of Vlaardingen as its place of business, have been assigned to civil-law notary Mr. GHHJ (Geert) Janssen MRE MBA.

For files handled under Mr. Bijster's responsibility and for deeds executed by him or his representatives, please contact us. We are happy to assist you.

One more thing...

Safety First

Safety first! To guarantee the safety of our visitors and employees, we have a protocol in place for emergencies, such as fires or related life-threatening situations. In the event of an emergency or an alarm, you are expected to immediately follow the instructions of our emergency responders. They can be recognized by their yellow vests. They are trained in life-saving procedures and can perform CPR. We will immediately alert the emergency services.

We have an AED ( Automated External Defibrillator) in the office and know how to use it in emergencies.

Languages and interpreter

MAES civil-law notaries can assist you in Dutch, English, German, Frisian, and Turkish. However, deeds are executed in Dutch or, upon consultation, English. If a party appearing does not, in the sole discretion of the civil-law notary, sufficiently understand Dutch, they are obligated to ensure that they are assisted during the execution of the deed by an interpreter, who, if possible, is also a sworn translator, and who will translate the substance of the deed for them. The deed must then be co-signed by the interpreter. The interpreter's assistance is noted at the end of the deed. The party concerned is responsible for arranging for the presence of an interpreter during the execution and for the associated costs. We have good experience with a number of interpreters (Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Italian, and Japanese) and can, if desired, put you in touch with one.
