Asset management
Risk and return are interrelated. That's why investors generally choose diversification, whether by asset class or geographically. But returns are also determined by the expert attention given to the risk and alternatives. We help clients consider how to formulate their investment strategy. The greater the risk, the higher the required return. We assess their risk tolerance. We determine their desired asset preservation or growth, their cash flow needs, their envisioned horizon, their preferred asset class, and their desired diversification.

If the client doesn't use their assets, inflation will continue to erode their value. Something needs to happen. A return needs to be generated. A return that's proportionate to the risk the client is willing to take. We assist with advice regarding the investment of the assets, whether the client wants to handle the execution entirely themselves, through their broker, or entrust the assets to an asset manager.
We discuss with the client the size of their available assets. And in which securities and asset classes do they want to invest? Do they focus on stocks, bonds, investment funds, trackers, derivatives, structured products, commodities, private equity, real estate, passion investments, or a combination thereof? Do they want to reduce risk by diversifying? Do they have a preference for specific managers or banks?
We keep a cool head, knowing that stocks have a higher expected return than bonds, that stocks of smaller companies have a higher expected return than stocks of large companies, and that lower-priced "value" stocks have a higher expected return than higher-priced "growth" stocks.
With a well-constructed and diversified portfolio, investors can achieve a weighted average return with a lower weighted average risk. Following public forecasts, frequently changing asset managers, or impulsively switching to an opportunistic and speculative strategy doesn't contribute to this. Our goal is to reduce and, if possible, eliminate all inefficiencies in the investment process.

We select and evaluate asset managers. We negotiate their fees, terms, and services. We coordinate and serve as the primary point of contact. We don't manage the assets ourselves, nor do we recommend financial products. We leave that to the selected asset manager to maintain our independence.

We see investors who want to allocate part of their assets to investments that offer not only a financial return but also a pseudo-financial return. And thus, provide meaning and pleasure. Investments that make the investor proud but are also socially responsible. This pseudo-financial return comes from investments characterized by the investor's passion. An investment in research and science that yields a chair bearing their name or other rights and privileges. A restaurant that, thanks to the gastronomically passionate investor, can achieve that third Michelin star. An investor who, as a co-producer, manages to gain access to a film set and film festivals. Or the investor who saw a beautiful piece at TEFAF or Sotheby's that complements their collection. Not to mention the car-enthusiast investor who helps a racing driver win major prizes in their car, and the horse lover who, through investing, realizes an Olympic dream.
Together with our clients, we can select fund managers and handle asset reporting. We present investment proposals initiated and assessed by us to the client. If desired, we perform due diligence , mandate negotiations, and draft contracts. This applies to both indirect investments in funds and direct, less liquid investments in real estate and private equity . We assist with obtaining financing and providing collateral. We can assist with valuations, considering not only today's value but also the value it can generate in the future. We report periodically to the client.
And should a major life event occur, and it will, we will discuss with the client what adjustments this will entail for the desired investment policy.
