Digital BV incorporation possible from 2024

Following the House of Representatives, the Senate also passed the bill for digitally establishing a private limited company (DOBV) today. The DOBV is now expected to be implemented on January 1, 2024.

We are now waiting for the final implementation date. The platform for digitally establishing a private limited company (BV) has been ready for some time. All notarial software vendors will be connected before the implementation date. The Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) will provide its members with comprehensive information about using this platform through courses and meetings, as well as a dedicated knowledge base.

Digital notarial deed
The bill stems from a European directive. The implementing legislation allows EU residents to establish a private limited company (BV) digitally through a digital notarial deed, with digital identification and digital signature at the highest levels of reliability.
