Real estate sector develops a digital purchase agreement for home buyers
A digital purchase agreement is the first result of the agreements made by the real estate sector within the Zorgeloos Vastgoed partnership. The Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) is also a member of Zorgeloos Vastgoed. On Thursday, Eric Jan van Kempen, Director General of Housing at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, accepted the Zorgeloos Vastgoed agreement framework.
Zorgeloos Vastgoed ensures that buyers and sellers can exchange digital information securely, efficiently, and accurately with other parties. From real estate agents to financial advisors, from lenders to notaries. Annerie Ploumen, chair of the Royal Dutch Association of Real Estate Agents (KNB), explains: "With Zorgeloos Vastgoed, we put the consumer first. Our partnership has allowed us to make chain-wide agreements about how we will exchange data. Soon, you, as a consumer, will be in control, knowing exactly who has what data and how you can exercise your rights."
Control over data
Now that all agreements are in writing, market players are getting to work. They are digitizing the purchase agreement in accordance with the agreements, allowing buyers and sellers to share the data across the industry. This gives consumers a clear overview and control, eliminating the need to repeatedly copy and distribute the document. Eric Jan van Kempen, Director General of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, was therefore delighted to receive the agreement: "The sector has not only taken an important step in making home buying easier, more reliable, and more transparent, but the approach also aligns perfectly with the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations' ambition to give citizens more control over the exchange of their personal data."
