Emergency law for digital passage extended

The emergency law that allows notarial deeds to be drawn up electronically has been extended until October 1, 2020. Initially, the temporary law was valid until September 1. The law also ensures that annual meetings of legal entities can be held remotely until October 1.

The temporary law provides several provisions necessary due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Notaries can use audiovisual equipment for identification and instruction and then execute the deed. This is only permitted in situations where no other means exist for executing the deed normally. Furthermore, the law is temporary and does not amend the Notary Act (Wna). The emergency law can be extended again.
