Fewer cases for chambers for notaries

The chambers for notarial services received 295 cases last year. This is significantly fewer than in 2021, when 375 cases were received. In total, the four chambers handled 312 cases last year, compared to 352 in 2021. Five notaries were suspended, and no notaries were removed from office.

The Arnhem-Leeuwarden Chamber received the most cases last year, namely 130. This is evident from the annual report (pdf, 457 kB) of the Chambers for Notaries. The other three chambers each received 55 cases. Arnhem-Leeuwarden is also the Chamber where the presiding judge dismissed a complaint most often because it was deemed inadmissible, unfounded, or of insufficient weight. This happened 24 times in this Chamber.

Withdraw complaint
Complainants can also withdraw their complaint themselves, for example, after a meeting with the chair of one of the chambers. This happened four times in total. More often, a complainant withdraws their complaint for another reason: 45 times last year.
