Higher fine for missing energy label
Home sellers who fail to provide a valid energy label at the time of transfer face a higher fine. The fine increased from €170 to €435 on November 1st. According to the Dutch Homeowners' Association (Vereniging Eigen Huis), the increase is related to the high cost of the energy label.
Anyone offering a home for sale is required to have a valid energy label. The price for such a label has increased significantly since January 1st: it costs an average of €307, compared to approximately €7.50 last year. According to the Homeowners' Association (Vereniging Eigen Huis) , this is why the fine has also been increased. For legal entities that commit this violation, the fine is 200 percent of €435.
