DOBV introduction finalised on 1 January

The decision has been made: the bill for digitally establishing a private limited company (DOBV) will be implemented on January 1, 2024. This was confirmed by the Minister for Legal Protection, Franc Weerwind, during the KNB conference in 's-Hertogenbosch.

DOBV makes it possible to establish a private limited company (BV) entirely online. The necessary platform has been in place for some time. All notarial software vendors will be connected before the implementation date. The Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) provides its members with comprehensive information about this through courses, meetings, and a dedicated knowledge base.

Digital notarial deed
The bill stems from a European directive. The implementing legislation allows EU residents to establish a private limited company (BV) digitally through a digital notarial deed, with digital identification and digital signature at the highest levels of reliability.
