Notaries pass 10 percent more deeds in February

In February, 10 percent more deeds were registered compared to the same period last year. The rise in the number of deeds, which began in January, continues. All types of deeds were drawn up more frequently. The number of transfer deeds (18 percent) and living wills (20 percent) rose particularly sharply.

A total of 134,361 deeds were executed by notaries last month. Of these, 19,225 people opted for a living will. This is evident from the latest deeds fact sheet (pdf) from the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB). Also, 28,407 people had their wills drawn up or amended, a 9 percent increase. Furthermore, the number of mortgages taken out rose by 13 percent to 21,724. Furthermore, 5,836 people established a private limited company (BV), a 12 percent increase in the number of deeds of incorporation.
