Notary offices remain open during hard lockdown
Notary offices may continue their regular business hours. Notaries are among the exceptions to the closure requirement during the strict lockdown in effect since December 19th. However, there is a strong recommendation not to receive clients after 8:00 PM.
Customers are still allowed to come to the office, provided that government advice is followed.
Temporary law
The temporary law enabling digital signing has been extended until at least February 1, 2022. Notaries may use audiovisual equipment for identification and instruction under Article 26 and subsequently sign the deed. This is only permitted in situations where no other means of signing the deed exist.
