Notary participates in Techruption innovation program
Innovating, digitizing, and discovering new applications for notarial services is what the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) wants to continue to pursue in the coming years. To this end, the notary profession is now partnering with Techruption, the innovation program of the Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen.
How convenient would it be if, as a customer, you could use a so-called "attribute" on your digital identity to prove you're an heir, without having to send a copy of the deed every time? Or if, as a notary, you could use artificial intelligence for emotion recognition during the remote execution of a deed? The Royal Dutch Bank (KNB) wants to investigate these kinds of cases with Techruption and partners from both the business and academic sectors. The project will begin by exploring the possibilities of Self Sovereign Identity, a technology that makes data exchange under the citizen's control more transparent and secure.
Meetings, hackathons and seminars
Brightlands Smart Services Campus is a community of 24,000 entrepreneurs, researchers, and students who collaborate on developing new smart digital services. Members include Rabo, Volksbank, DELA, TNO, Statistics Netherlands (CBS), and Maastricht University. The KNB (Royal Dutch Banking Association) does not have an office on the Heerlen campus, but it does send members to meetings and actively participates in hackathons and seminars. The professional organization expects to develop innovative applications for new technologies together with partners and organizations also engaged in the digital transition.
