Number of deeds also rises in May

The number of deeds executed by notaries rose by 8 percent in May compared to the same month last year. This continues the upward trend that began in April. The largest increase was seen in the number of mortgage deeds and transfer deeds: increases of 24 and 23 percent, respectively.

In total, notaries executed nearly 154,000 deeds in May. In May 2023, that number was 142,000. This is evident from the May deeds fact sheet (pdf) . In absolute numbers, wills (30,700), mortgage deeds (29,200), and transfer deeds (28,400) are the most executed. Living wills are next, showing a 4 percent increase compared to the same month last year, to 20,100 deeds.

Are there no declines at all? Only the number of prenuptial agreements and foundations decreased slightly. The number of certificates of inheritance issued and the establishment of private limited companies remained virtually unchanged.
