Digital BV setup platform ready (video)
The platform for digitally establishing a private limited company (BV) in the future was delivered last week. This means the system, which allows the notary to identify and speak to an incorporator online, and execute the deed of incorporation, is ready for when legislation changes accordingly. Curious about how online establishment of a BV will work in the future? We explain it in this video (3:13 min) .
According to a European directive, a private limited company (BV) must be able to be incorporated digitally by August 1, 2021. However, the implementation date of the associated legislation has been postponed by up to a year. As a result, the system cannot yet be implemented.
Testing ground
The Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) is developing a pilot program for (junior) civil-law notaries. Members will have the opportunity to gain initial experience with the DOBV system in the fall of 2021. They will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the system and the accompanying instructions, information, and support. The professional organization will immediately incorporate this feedback to further align the system with daily practice.
