Significant growth in the number of new private limited companies
The number of new private limited companies (BVs) established in November grew significantly. Notaries executed nearly 6,700 deeds of incorporation last month. That's almost 1,300 more than a year earlier: a 24 percent increase.
The strong growth in the number of home transfers and mortgage deeds over the past six months, however, leveled off somewhat in November. These numbers rose by 5 and 6 percent, respectively. In the previous monthly report, these growth figures were three times as high.
Will and living will
With the end of the year approaching, more people are visiting notaries for wills and living wills. Last month, the number of wills rose by 10 percent compared to November 2019. The number of living wills increased by over 12 percent. In total, notaries executed over 16,000 more deeds last month than in November of last year.
Property
The notary profession remains optimistic about the coming period. Monthly research by the Royal Dutch Notary Association (KNB) shows that over 60 percent of notaries have noticed an increase in the number of new cases in their real estate practice. Last month, this figure was almost half. Over 35 percent of notaries have recently received more new cases in their family practice. This is comparable to the previous month. The increase that began last month in their corporate practice is also being seen by notaries in December. Well over half say they have received more new cases, compared to almost 40 percent last month.
