MAES notaries with team JAJO to the Ocean Race

It's starting

This weekend is the day. The 14th edition of The Ocean Race begins on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Alicante, Spain, for a 32,000-nautical-mile (60,000 km) race around the world. In June 2023, the participants will arrive in The Hague, where they will restart on June 15 for the final leg to the finish in Genoa.

During the stop in The Hague, all eyes of the Dutch and international sailing community will be on the Royal City. Our home port. The port of Scheveningen is transforming into the place where sailing, water sports, and sustainability converge, where water sports enthusiasts, sailors, and MAES notaries and some of their clients will complete the celebration.

We wish Team JAJO success, fun, and safe travels. We'll meet in Scheveningen in June.

Team JAJO

Team JAJO, sponsored by JAJO (a group of construction-related companies) , co-sponsored by partner MAES notarissen, and skippered by 28-year-old Jelmer van Beek , is the Dutch participant in The Ocean Race VO65 Sprint Cup. The main event of The Ocean Race is the IMOCA class, which races five teams around the world in seven legs . The heart of the race is the longest and toughest leg, from Cape Town, South Africa, to Itajaí, Brazil.

This leg is the longest in the event's 50-year history and is a 12,750 nautical mile marathon through the Southern Ocean, passing the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin, Cape Bluff and Cape Horn.

This last Cape Horn can also be described as the Mount Everest of sailing and marks a legendary turning point in the race, after which the teams can sail north towards Europe again.

About MAES notaries

MAES Notarissen is an independent, full-service notary office serving individuals, businesses, and (semi-)government bodies in the Rotterdam-The Hague Metropolitan Area. We specialize in personal and family law, corporate law, and real estate. We guide our clients through the moments that truly matter in life—both business and personal. We offer peace of mind, reliability, and security. We provide customized solutions and, with Basisnotarissen Rijnmond, offer a discount label for affordable, ready-made solutions. Impeccable, dedicated, and honest.

There are notary offices, and then there are MAES notaries. Our approach is distinctive. Not as a goal, but as a result. We counter all the shades of gray with color. We show who we are and what we stand for. With our energy, our vision, and our dedication. We are visible. Entrepreneurial. Social. We speak out. We take responsibility, including social responsibility. We are innovators. Not followers. We are motivated to be the most client-focused notary office in the region. We want our clients to be proud of the personal relationship we have with them. And euphoric about what we offer them professionally. But above all, we want them to enjoy being with us. We want them to be able to laugh together. And sometimes even a little at themselves.

We recognize the responsibility we bear for our stakeholders: our customers, our employees, suppliers, the government, and the society we are part of. This applies to both our professional and social spheres. Our social responsibility focuses on three themes: governance , a sustainable living environment, and social engagement. We hope to make an impact through these initiatives.

Our social commitment means we support charities and social organizations in the areas of Health and Wellbeing, Culture, and Sports.

We attach great importance to sports. Sports connect and unite. It requires teamwork. It requires innovation. It requires knowledge sharing. It teaches you how to deal with winning and losing. It requires ambition, practice, lots of practice, and perseverance. It contributes to our mental and physical well-being. We therefore gladly support athletes with the ambition to achieve something special and the clubs that facilitate them in this.

About DutchSail

DutchSail is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to bring together and maintain connections between organizations that can and want to contribute, directly or indirectly, to the well-being of water sports. One aspect is to facilitate and make the current major leap from the Olympic sailing disciplines, in which "we" excel, to the non-Olympic but nevertheless prestigious sailing disciplines, more logical and easier. DutchSail also strives to raise awareness of innovation in water sports, in which close relationships with the many knowledge institutions in our country play a vital role.
