Annerie Ploumen elected as new KNB chair (video)

Annerie Ploumen, a civil-law notary at Van Doorne, will become the new chair of the Royal Dutch Association of Civil-Law Notaries (KNB) effective January 1, 2021. She was unanimously elected yesterday during the Members' Council. In this video (2:14 min) , Ploumen explains her focus in the coming years.

Ploumen succeeds Nick van Buitenen, who has been chair of the Royal Netherlands Notary Association (KNB) since October 1, 2017. One of Ploumen's key priorities is the theme "Futureproof" from the Strategic Agenda for the Notary Profession 2020-2025. Ploumen sees shaping this theme as a challenge. She also indicates she doesn't want to do it alone. "We can't do this in splendid isolation; we need the help and commitment of everyone—members, board members, KNB staff, and stakeholders. I will listen, draw conclusions, and act. Especially the latter, because that's what the coming years will be about."

New board member
Due to Van Buitenen's upcoming departure, Isabelle Cox has been appointed as a new board member. Cox is a civil-law notary at Olenz in Veenendaal and a member of the New Technologies and IT working group of the European Council of Notaries (CNUE). As a new board member, she will focus primarily on digitalization and the implementation of ICT applications. The Members' Council also decided that Bart Versteeg will serve as deputy chair, effective January 1st. He succeeds Aart Barkey Wolf.
