KNB Annual Congress: 'Cherish solidity, embrace inspiration'
According to Franc Weerwind, the Minister for Legal Protection, the Dutch notary profession has been known for its reliability and integrity for centuries. But at the same time, the notary profession is also brimming with initiatives to make notaries more accessible. His message during the KNB congress: "cherish reliability, embrace inspiration."
This year's well-attended annual conference took place at the 1931 conference center in 's-Hertogenbosch. In addition to Weerwind, Jacco Vonhof (chairman of MKB Nederland) and opinion leader Sander Schimmelpenninck addressed the notary profession. The event was chaired by Rick Nieman and KNB chair Annerie Ploumen. In addition, (candidate) notaries were able to participate in 10 inspiring breakout sessions to work on their own accessibility: from improving their digital services to having conversations that benefit clients more.
Accessible and human notary service
This year's theme was (in)accessible notaries. In his presentation, Weerwind emphasized the importance of an accessible and humane notary profession. He also praised the initiatives to make notaries more accessible, including in terms of familiarity, affordability, and comprehensibility. He also promised to engage in digital discussions with our profession soon. This webinar will likely take place in January. More information will follow later on NotarisNet.
