Beware of fake notaries
In addition, there are many fake notaries operating in the market. These are parties, often " lead generators ," who, despite being prohibited by law, call themselves "notaries," often aggressively selling (unnecessary) deeds online or through slick sales meetings in small venues or even at your home. However, they are not real notaries. Unlike real notaries, they lack the required training, are not bound by professional secrecy, are not subject to disciplinary law, are not subject to financial supervision, have no ban on commissions, and are not permitted to sign deeds themselves. They don't take a professional oath. They are independent-minded individuals who don't care whether they sell you cars or notarial services. They work on the basis of commissions (often concealed from the client). At MAES Notaries, we see many clients who are disappointed and disillusioned by an unfortunate experience with a fake notary and who ask us to take action. Unfortunately, such rectifications result in additional costs for them. Cheap, in turn, turns out to be expensive.
