Expert group investigates modernisation of public limited company law
A new consultation on a new regulation for partnerships will be held again. This was announced by Minister Franc Weerwind for Legal Protection to the House of Representatives. He also intends to commission an expert group to investigate the modernization of public limited company law and make concrete proposals for improvement.
In the letter to Parliament, Weerwind informs the House of Representatives about the progress of the modernization of company law. In 2019, a consultation was held on a new regulation for partnerships. Following this, the proposal was amended and updated. The Minister is submitting this proposal for consultation to test the substantive changes in practice. The accompanying tax measures will also be consulted. The principle is that these measures will have the least possible impact on the current tax treatment of partnerships and will support the proposed civil law amendments.
Expert group on public limited company law
As part of keeping company law up-to-date, the Minister also wants to take concrete steps to modernize public limited company law during this cabinet term. He believes it is desirable to eliminate practical bottlenecks and implement practical improvements where possible. Public limited company law is technical in nature. Furthermore, it is essential that any changes to it align with practical needs and be easily implementable. Therefore, Weerwind first wants to commission an expert group of legal practitioners and academics to examine this matter.
