Interview with MAES notaries in the Leidsche Noot
Notary Mr. GHHJ (Geert) Janssen MRE MBA was recently interviewed by editors of De Leidsche Noot, the membership magazine of the Brotherhood of Notarial Students in Leiden ("BNSL").
The interview discusses Geert Janssen and his fondest memory as a BNSL alumni. The article also explores how MAES civil-law notaries conducts its business in a socially responsible manner. It addresses the impact of digitalization on our practice and how our firm is not a follower, but an innovator. This allows us, with our dream team, to continue to passionately pursue our clients' work. Impeccable, dedicated, and with integrity.
There's a war for talent going on, with large law firms trying to lure students with mirrors and beads to work their butts off in the Zuidas district in the coming years, in a subordinate administrative role supporting corporate lawyers who have the more demanding work done by their associates.
Instead, we want to offer our employees a challenging and stimulating work environment where they feel comfortable and safe. We are loyal and supportive. We support each other. We are good to each other. We don't limit ourselves to just checking seven boxes. We are convinced that our organization benefits when notarial lawyers from diverse backgrounds work for us. We actively recruit, retain, and promote a diverse group of employees within our firm because we believe in quality, regardless of race, gender, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation. In doing so, we strive for a stimulating work environment characterized by diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunities. We value knowledge development and knowledge sharing. We enjoy challenging each other. We maintain constant communication with each other and hold regular team meetings and an internal training program.
The BNSL has invited us to give a pub lecture in Leiden on October 24, 2023. We're delighted to do so, together with Support Casper. During this lecture, we'll discuss the benefits and necessity of making a will and a living will. Using a quiz with fun prizes to win, MAES notaries will share several tips and tricks that can earn everyone a lot of money. The students will get to know Paul and Anja van Oppen and their endeavors, and Ronald Koeman and René van der Gijp will also make an appearance. Now that's what we call "Good for each other"!
