No data from notary offices stolen in hack

No company or client data was stolen from notary offices in the hack that hit IT provider Managed IT on Friday. The attack targeted only the IT provider and not its clients. Starting Wednesday, a growing number of affected offices regained access to their systems. The attack has been reported to the police, according to a press release from Managed IT.

The hack encrypted a significant portion of Managed IT's infrastructure. A specialized company obtained the key, restoring full control over the platform. Over the past few days, the IT company's systems have been cleaned up and checked for any remaining vulnerabilities. Additional security software has been installed, multi-factor authentication has been implemented, and continuous monitoring is underway.

Back online
The IT provider began bringing notary offices back online on Tuesday, April 20th. They expect all offices to be fully digital again by the end of this week. Due to the hack, they were temporarily disconnected from various servers and databases as a precaution.
