Number of deeds passed continues to decline
In May, notaries executed fewer deeds than in the same month last year: 142,000 compared to over 160,000 in May 2022. This continues the decline in the number of executed deeds. The number of mortgage deeds and transfer deeds, in particular, fell sharply.
For the fifth consecutive month, the number of deeds executed decreased compared to the same month last year. A total of 410,000 deeds were executed in the first five months of this year, compared to 466,000 during the same period in 2022: a decrease of 12 percent.
Decrease in real estate, increase in wills
Looking at the types of deeds, there are significant differences. The largest decrease is seen in the number of mortgage deeds (46 percent) and deeds of transfer (13 percent). On the other hand, the number of wills and living wills increased, by 11 and 19 percent, respectively. In corporate law, the number of private limited companies (BVs) incorporated increased by 7 percent, while other types of deeds remained virtually unchanged compared to May of last year.
