Support Casper Gala in Huis ter Duin

On Saturday evening the Support Casper Gala took place at Huis ter Duin.

The gala's goal was to raise money for innovative research into new treatments for pancreatic cancer. This research is led by Professor Casper van Eyck, former club doctor for Feyenoord and Sparta, and until last Friday a professor at the Erasmus Medical Center.

Van Eyck was appointed Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau last Friday. He received this distinction from the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, Ernst Kuipers, at his farewell as professor at De Kuip Stadium for his tireless efforts to increase the chances of recovery for his patients.

Former Sparta player René van der Gijp, our national coach "snowflake" Ronald Koeman, and former Dutch national team goalkeeper Hans van Breukelen, as well as Ton van Veen, CEO of Jumbo supermarkets, proved themselves true ambassadors of Support Casper tonight. The auction during the gala raised €1,002,000.
