With Love
With the first money I earned from a part-time job during high school, I bought—very sweetly, if I may say so myself—a bouquet of flowers for my mother. She reminded me of it in the final stages of her life. It turned out I'd forgotten.
The week after the bouquet, I treated myself to a wonderful gift: the newly released album "Met Liefde" by André Hazes. The year was 1982. Since then—and long before he was embraced by the whole of the Netherlands—Hazes had been my favorite Dutch-language artist. And how wonderful that his legacy is so cherished.
Tonight, my better half grants me the opportunity to indulge in one of my guilty pleasures together with her – in between all the hard work for the valued clients of MAES notaries: the sing-along during Holland Zingt Hazes in the Ziggo Dome.
Before that, starting around 4:00 PM, we'll be enjoying a steak at Loetje aan de Amstel. All MAES notary relations who are also attending the concert tonight, and who are equally comfortable doing so, are cordially invited to join us for a steak at Loetje.
